On the surface Lamha Latheef is a public figure in the entertainment industry. She made her TV debut in singing at the age of nine in 2001 for the inter-school singing competitions until 2006. She went on to win 3rd place in 2002. In 2011 she returned back to the spotlight in “Ehandhaanuga Retro, which is a show anticipated by many Maldivians yearly. She continued sharing her music and giving performances with many talented Maldivian composers and artists at many events, such as, performances at live Eid shows, Music videos, Charity events and on a more notable show; “Olympians and Friends” for two years. In addition, she has been a playback singer for many movies such as ’Hiyy Yaaraa Dheefaa’, ‘Leena’ and ‘Forty +’.
As a creative individual, she branched out from singing to hosting Maldives’ first ever franchise reality-TV show Maldivian Idol S02. This created her more opportunities to expand her hosting career, taking part in international events such as World Travel Awards 2017, and national events such as Maldives Film Awards 2019. Furthermore, she also hosted many tv programs including Heyyanbo and appeared as a guest in numerous TV shows.
She has always had the interest in pursuing a career in acting, due to the exposure and fame she has received from being in the public eye she was able to create more opportunities for herself. Her acting career started off in a theatre play directed by one of Maldives’ famous director, Mohamed Munthasir. However her acting career really took-off in Maldives’ first ever sit-com, ‘Karuhakuru’ which is aired on a Maldivian streaming app called Baiskoafu as the lead actress, Liusha. In addition to this, she has starred in local tv commercials and has already signed up for a feature film which will be premiered in 2021.
In addition to being a multi-talented personnel, she is a travel enthusiast who is well known for her travel ventures on social media. Travel being her passion, she is incredibly interested in learning about different cultures, their history, meeting new people and most importantly, their food. Up to date she has travelled to more than 25 countries over the years. She believes, what made her career in the entertainment industry to skyrocket was the love and support from her family, peers, fans and the community. She continues to inspire young adults to travel and express themselves more creatively.
